PSA Poster Series

This poster series presents the viewer with a hypothetical person, gives the viewer that person’s name and a fact about them, then follows up with a comparatively shocking statistic about one of the hardships that LGBTQ people disproportionately face. The level of shock value in this series is meant to convey the sense that while these people are “normal,” they face adversities that their cisgender and heterosexual peers may not, or that their cisgender and heterosexual peers may face less frequently than those in the LGBTQ community.

Repetition and consistency between coloration, type treatment, and image usage help to clearly communicate that these posters belong to a common set, and therefore share the same overall subject matter. Despite living independent lives, these people all share the common trait of simply being human, and that is the common message that is being presented to the viewer across all three of the pieces in this series.
