A Brief Introductory Guide to Tic Disorders
Informational Brochure

"A Brief Introductory Guide to Tic Disorders" is an overall summary of facts and statistics about tic disorders, created with the intention of educating people about tic disorders and tics’ effects on the people with that live with tics.
This is a bi-fold brochure consisting of 12 pages, including the front and back covers. The brochure takes on a primarily teal color scheme, based on the teal ribbon used to represent Tourette syndrome, which is generally considered to be the most well known of all tic disorders. The brochure also features a harmonious violet as a supplement to the brochure’s teal elements.
Montserrat Bold was chosen for the brochure’s title and headers due to its wide and round forms being easily noticeable and readable. Noto Sans was used likewise because of its easiness to read.

Early plans for "A Brief Introductory Guide to Tic Disorders" show a version of the brochure with notably few images in mind and a total of 16 pages, including both covers. Despite this, a full design with these specifications never came to be, with even the earliest designed drafts containing a total of 12 pages. The spreads for types of tic disorders and types of tic patterns were ultimately condensed to a page each along with the table of contents, the latter of which was then paired with the overview of tic disorders to form another spread.

A teal color scheme was chosen due to teal's use as a color to represent Tourette syndrome awareness, not unlike pink for breast cancer or red for HIV/AIDS. Multiple shades and tints of teal were used throughout the brochure

The original final draft made more frequent use of teal's complimentary beige as well as having a heavier use of imagery.

The revised edition of the brochure adds more variety to the page layouts throughout the booklet as well as changing the cover imagery and opting for a cooler purple to go along with the primarily teal color scheme rather than the original complimentary beige.
